ABOUT

HISTORY

Burin Peninsula Voice Against Violence is one of ten regional coordinating committees funded by the provincial government’s Violence Prevention Initiative to assist with the coordination of violence prevention activities in the region.

Burin Peninsula Voice Against Violence is a non -profit, voluntary committee made up of individuals from both government and community that meet regularly to discuss issues relating to violence and seek new ways to work together in the community to prevent violence.

VISION AND MISSION

Vision - The residents of the Burin Peninsula recognize that violence affects us all and we are collectively responsible for addressing violence prevention.  Those in need of services know where they can go to get help and support.

Mission - The BPVAV, with our collaborative partners, will name violence and its many faces, will work to create social change and safe communities, and will support the communities of the region in working in solidarity. The BPVAV will work regionally, to strengthen communities, support individuals and families, build capacity and promote acceptance of diversity.
